Hello all, and welcome to another exciting Rotary year! I am so excited to step into the role of President this year and work with my board to achieve all the goals we have laid out. My theme for the year is LEGACY. 2023 was the 25th anniversary of Rotary SLO Daybreak, and I look forward to continuing the amazing legacy that has already been established, but also expanding on what we can do within our community. My definition of this is expanding the club exposure, as well as growing the membership with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. This will ensure the continued existence of our club, and give us new perspective into different points of view from different walks of life. I look forward to seeing what is possible in the upcoming year, pushing limits and doing all we can to live up to the last 25 years of incredible "Service Above Self." 

Matt Janetski, Membership Chair for the Rotary Club of SLO Daybreak, recognizes the importance of attracting and retaining community members with a passion for service and giving. In unison with the President’s goal of ten new members for the 2023-2024 rotary year, the Membership Chair will utilize local events as a way to promote the club in addition to leveraging social media as a way to spread the word of rotary and the benefits our club offers to the community. Working with current members, it will be all hands on deck in supporting the growth of our club to ensure a bright and fun future!

Our annual SLO Daybreak BBQ will take place this year on August 18 at the Lamplighter Inn, 1604 Monterey St. For just $60, you will receive a dinner for 4 including a whole trip-tip, salad, garlic bread and beans. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund student scholarships, teachers grants and community grants. Please reach out to your favorite Rotarian for your ticket right away!
